About

Leo Alves, online fitness coach

What this is

The Leo Alves Podcast is a fitness and health podcast about getting leaner, getting stronger, eating better, and building habits that actually fit around the rest of your life.

Hosted by online fitness coach Leo Alves, the podcast takes an evidence-informed but practical approach to fat loss, nutrition, strength training, exercise, habits, and long-term health.

There's no shortage of fitness advice online. Some of it makes simple things seem far more complicated than they need to be, while some suggest that getting in shape requires you to make fitness the centre of your life.

This podcast takes a different approach. It focuses on the strategies that matter, how to apply them in the real world, and how to make progress without letting fitness take over your life.

What the podcast is about

Most episodes focus on the questions and problems that come up when you're trying to get in better shape in the real world.

That includes fat loss, calorie deficits, protein, nutrition, strength training, progressive overload, exercise selection, motivation, consistency, habit building, managing setbacks, and figuring out which pieces of fitness advice are actually worth paying attention to.

Some episodes are practical deep dives into a specific topic. Others are based on things I've noticed after years of coaching people, mistakes I've made myself, opinions I've changed, or questions that keep coming up.

And every now and then, the podcast wanders outside of fitness altogether.

About Leo Alves

I'm Leo Alves, an online fitness coach and founder of Kairos Online. I hold a Master's degree in Strength & Conditioning and more than ten years of coaching experience.

Before moving fully into online coaching, I worked in and around professional sport, including internships with Fulham FC, Preston North End and Wigan Warriors. Over the years, my work has shifted toward helping everyday people lose fat, get stronger, and build a way of eating and training they can realistically maintain.

I'm much more interested in helping someone make fitness work alongside their actual life than convincing them to organise their entire life around fitness.

That philosophy is a big part of this podcast.

There are plenty of places to find workouts, diets, hacks and lists of things you supposedly shouldn't be doing.

The Leo Alves Podcast is more about understanding what matters, what probably doesn't, and how to put the useful stuff into practice consistently enough to actually get somewhere.
